| Ok, so I realize it has been just about forever and a day since I've updated this thing. So here's whats been going on this summer.
I finished my internship on July 7. It went really well. I had a blast. I got an A! My supervisor, Jim, was great. He had wonderful things to say about me to Dr. Feroz, which was awesome! And, if you're ever in the Sped building, look for my pic on the Rehab Bulletin board (outside of the sped office). Its a pic of me, Jim, and Jim's boss, Mark. Since ending the internship, I am officially unemployed and haven't found a job. I tried to get in a the Senior Center run by the Barber Center, where I spent 2 weeks of my internship. However, that didn't pan out since it would only be for the rest of the summer. I also had an application in at Barb's Care-A-Lot to work at their day camp for the rest of the summer. I never heard from them, and I've not been able to call. I was hoping that would pan out, because my friend Lindsey said they needed someone else for the rest of the summer because someone was leaving. So pray that God provides me with much needed $$$$ for gas this fall. I've been doing some babysitting, but there's not a ton of money in that, and its nothing consistent....
So other than my lack of work, I've actually been pretty busy. My cousin Mike and my friend Lindsey (who I mentioned in the last paragraph) got married yesterday! The ceremony was beautiful. I definitely cried. . I signed "How Beautiful" by Twila Paris during the ceremony. My cousin's uncle Larry, who is deaf came up and thanked me and told me he really enjoyed my song, which meant a lot to me, because it meant he understood it (which means i did it right!). I was kind of nervous knowing he'd be there. But it did go well, so I'm happy. Oh yeah, next time you talk to me, remind me to tell you the story about the rehearsal dinner. (Its too long to type out in my xanga). But lets just say things didn't quite go as planned.... The reception went well. We all had a blast dancing. I spend most of my time dancing with four little girls, all between the ages of 3 and 6. During one of the songs I jokingly told my friend Annie (who is getting married in 2 weeks) "This is what happens when you go to a wedding and you're single....You end up dancing with the little girls!" To which she replied "Not in two weeks! There won't be any kids, but lots of single guys" Oh yeah, one other quick story...the morning of the wedding Lindsey had 2 hairdressers at the church to do our hair, and we had to bring a picture of what we wanted. So I brought a pic of Niki from her wedding, cuz I wanted my hair similar to how she had it, So here is the conversation between me and Shelley (the lady who did my hair). She asked "When was this picture taken?" I said "In June" and she asks "Did you get married?" "Oh, no, this a picture of my friend of at her wedding." She definitely thought it was me in the pic. And then Joy, one of the bridesmaids saw the picture sitting there and she was like "Oh, is that you?" I never thought I looked like Niki....
So thats basically it. My summer has been consumed by my internship and getting stuff ready for the wedding...which are both now over. So I don't know what's going on the rest of the summer. Anywho...this is long enough. I'll stop babbling.... |
